Dr. Shapiro was at various times Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts School of Medicine, Professorof Psychiatry at Cornell School of Medicine, Medical Director of the New York Hospital Westchester Division, Training Analyst at Columbia Psychoanalytic Society, and Director of Training at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. He has participated as a member of the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement. He completed an undergraduate degree at Harvard University in 1991, and currently is a graduate student in English Literature at Florida Atlantic University, working on a Henry James thesis.
