The Bibring Photograph Collection presents Dr. Edward Bibring not only as an outstanding psychoanalyst, but also as a passionate photographer and historian. The archive features two albums containing 182 photographs of the members of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) Congresses, taken by Edward Bibring from 1932 through 1938. Many of these pictures have recently been published in Edward Bibring Photographs Psychoanalysts of His Time, the book created by the joint effort of BPSI and the Analytic Press. Other photo materials include a large collection of Bibring family photographs and portraits, as well as many pictures of important conferences, meetings, and parties from the early 1900s up to the 1970s.

Finding Aid: A list of all psychoanalysts appearing in the two Bibring’s albums could be found here. You can also search Bibring photograph collection in our Library Catalog.
