Cordelia Schmidt-Hellerau, PhD is the author of many papers and books on theoretical, clinical and applied psychoanalysis, including Life Drive & Death Drive, Libido & Lethe (2001) and Driven to Survive (2018), which was a finalist of the American Board & Academy of Psychoanalysis Book Prize. She is the author of three novels: Memory’s Eyes (2020) in English, Rousseaus Traum (2019) in German, and Memento (in progress). As the Chair of the IPA in Culture Committee she has edited a multilingual collection of stories The Analyst as Storyteller / El Analista como Narrador (2021). She works in private practice in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Members and partners can borrow all Cordelia Schmidt-Hellerau’s books from the BPSI library.
